The stakes of the battle for alpha were higher than Charlie Vuk had ever imagined. An arranged marriage? What was this, the Middle Ages?
The thought of losing Owen terrified her. But he was their enemy—or at least, that’s what everyone else wanted her to believe. She had to figure out if she could trust him or if he was only using her to bring down her family.
If Regan won, she had made one thing clear: the first thing she would do was eliminate her betrothed. Now, Charlie wasn’t just fighting for her own life—she was fighting for Owen’s too.
Alpha Trials is a slow burn, enemies to lovers, closed-door paranormal romance with fated mates, sister rivalry, and feuding families. Dive into the Fangs & Fates world where shifters, vampires, and romance collide!

This is the first in a series, and yet, I expected it to be longer. It's good, but I felt like this installment didn't need to end when it did. Regardless, I've acquired the rest of the series and look forward to how the story progresses.
I enjoy reading about teen characters that aren't winy and like that the werewolf focus is on females. So far, this is a spice-free story, which is fine for me. We'll see if it stays that way. I look forward to seeing how the dynamic between supernatural species develops. I appreciate the creative details applied to characters and the complexity of the worldbuilding.
I like the emphasis on family and sibling bonds portrayed in the story, but not sure how I feel about the parental representation just yet.
